I like the eclipse idea. maybe for cool factor consider an SVX? That is if you don't mind tranny issues! or... in the jeep line... a Cherokee. Very utilitarian, but fun in the snow. not the best on gas.

Syncro?

Would an older eclipse be reliable?

Syncro?

Shoot, I'll bid on that! Would be a pain to get here though, but think about how many people have never seen one of those here!

Somebody better bid on it. Think about all of the people who wouldn't care to think twice about what it is.
Would be great to have but what about registration? (anybody up to date on what happened to kevin's rallye?)

I don't think registration would be a huge problem, i know people who have brought their cars in from canada and have had good luck. it is a bit harder than registering a regular US born car though.

I honsetly think I'm going to bid on it, it has a reserve, so lord knows what that's set at.

My family has a 4.0 inline six Cherokee, have had it for about 6 years, only thing we've had to do with it is new front brakes, and an adjustable air-ride rear suspension (for hauling heavy trailers) :) We drive it through a lot of nasty stuff too and it keeps coming back for more, but takes a nice gulp out of your wallet at times too.

i think it got 21.5 mpg on the way home . i filled it up on monday to see about city mpg but i am still around 3/4 of a tank so i could give ya a better estimate once it all gone.

I didnt mean you, I was saying in general.

Pete- Generally MPG is between 16-20 for regular Cherokees, they do a bit better than the Wranglers. McShane had one for a while and usually got in the 18mpg range.

Things to look for inherent in these things- Cracked exhaust manifold (they all do it at some point), U-joints... if it clunks when you tuen (front u-joints) or vibrates when you get up to speed (driveshaft) the respective u joints are shot. Judging this particular one just made it from florida, it should be ok. Look for any leaks around the front and rear diffs as well as the transfer case. Ive never had a Jeep leave me stranded, even the inferior Mopar ones :P
