yeah, so not too long ago i aquired some GLI shocks/struts and installed them along with H&R sport spring. when i origionally had it done i had an alignment check and the car steered fine. Now my VW symbol on my steering wheel has to stay tilted a bit to keep my car going straight. So what im asking i guess is there anyone who has the capabilities to perform an alignment, or knows what the problem could be?? any feedback would be appreciated.

How long ago did you get the alignment done? Is the car pulling to the side while driving or going straight just w/ the symbol crooked? If it's pulling and it's been a very short time since the alignment, I'd go back and b*tch. If it's been more than a month or so, then you are pretty f'd since a single pot hole can throw the alignment off. If it's driving fine w/o pulling but the symbol is crooked, the only way to fix it at this point is to take the steering wheel off, center it, and reinstall.

That's pretty funny. I had mine done at Burdick yesterday becasue I had experienced the same sort of pull or crookedness that you did, after a suspension install. I was thinking of going back and complaining also. Beacuse the wheel is still not straight.

I did talk to a friend who is a mechanic for Jag and owned a MKIV golf for a year or two. He told me that when he alligned his golf, the wheel never went back to being staight. And that he considered himself pretty damn good at getting the steering wheel straight.

He also mentioned....people(mechanics) sometimes just don't give a f***.

Many of have had great service for alignments at Sears shoppingtown. I've also heard Goodyear does a good job.

Theres a place in Oneida called Hubbs Auto. They specialize in Alignments. I've been going there for years with all my cars and most of my family and friends go there as well. If you pay cash i think he charges 40 or 50 bux with no tax. Its a small rinky dink shop that hes been running probably for the past 30 or 40 years.

Just another option for ppl who arent in cuse or who want to save a few bux..

thanks for all the input guys, i guess its gonna need just a straight alignment, because if i let go of the wheel and let it set straight, then the car starts to pull to the left. I suppose it might have been a bump that I hit? or the guy who looked at it before didnt inspect it properly.

depending on how long you plan on keeping the car, firestone has a lifetime alignment program. it's a one time fee of something like 130 and whenever you want to get one, just pop in and they'll do it. not a bad deal if you ask me.

That is what I have for my GTI.... they are decent guys there at the one I got to up by Rt31/I481. They didn't have any problem with me bringing the car in with the camber plates and me telling them to not touch that stuff and just bring the Toe into spec and measuring the other stuff.

I had no pulling before or after putting my suspension in and getting it aligned. I had it done at Goodyear in Mattydale.
