Considering Selling The Fizzer!!

Well Twice in the last week I have been in really close calls. Both on the high way.... The last one putting me on the gaurdrail at 60mph because someone didn't see me and merged two lanes over from west st to 690 eastbound. This is after I moved over a lane just to give them some extra room. I think there was prob a few inches between me and the car and less than that between the rail and 50 60 foot drop I was looking down. I love riding but man people are blind. I dont think it would do much good for Bella if I ended up squished. I am going to give it a bit to see if I change my mind.

I am sure I could get back out of the bike what I have into it...I just dont know if I wanna give it up or maybe there is something else I can do. like change riding style or roads I ride on. Plus I dont have a payment on it...so I hate selling the only thing thats payed for...well other than the rado.....dunno yet

its a 95 fzr 1000 completly stock and only 4900 miles on it.....i bought it with like 4400 or 4200 I cant remember. So I have not had it long.

i was also thinking of maybe trading it for a mk3 vr or corrado vr or mk2 vr swap..... but I really have enough cars for now till I have a garage and my driveway done....

If there was some way to fit a really bright strobe light and a really loud ****ing horn on the bike, I would do it. Have them both hooked up to one button easy to hit with your thumb.... or better yet a proximty alarm.... anyone drives within a couple of feet to your side or several feet front or back (while travelling at speed) and automatically all hell breaks loose.

Another one of my mad scientist ideas would be a mobile and directional EMP weapon....

I know how you feel, Brent. I've been skeered to ride b/c of some close calls and as a result haven't put much effort into getting it to run right. I'll prolly end up selling it to get a boat or something. I'm just getting too old to worry about if I'll survive my bike ride so I can see my kid again.

exactly.....I really could care less about myself or what happens to me thats never been much of a concern, but the results it could have on Isabella would be devistating, and that drives me buggy. I ride the bike well- beat on it a little ,,,but mostly just cruise so I fig that it would be pretty safe......its always when I am just laid back relaxed cruisen I have issues.

I think that's the problem with riding around here, the drivers are not really used to bikes sharing hte roads and do not pay attention to them at all. My opinion....sell it...the risk is not worth it, get yourself a nice winter car with the proceeds.

some car drivers are ****ing retarded! :mad: It really sucks that riders have to put up with such negligence. driving defensively is a must, you even have to take it to the next level and proactively consider what kinda dumb **** people might do. It infuriates me when people dont use their blinker and ****, that is just asking for it. I say give it some time homie, maybe stick to 'smaller' roads, back roads, etc...

if either of you do sell please list here first, ive been dying to get back on a bike. it really conflicts with my desire to get rid of all debt and buy a house, buy if the price is right i might be able to swing it...

Yup that's the accident. He was a regular downtown. Had a skate shop. Very cool guy, his daughter died a few years before him. It's turned out to be a pretty tragic story.

I agree getting rid of the bike is a good idea. Drivers don't look out for them and there has been such bad press this year for bikes. I'm sure some drivers even go out of their way to harass bikers becuase of all the recent stories.

I think of myself as a pretty alert driver and I have caught myself not seeing a bike a few times. Sometimes you just miss them and you feel like crap when you do. For those drivers that aren't alert it has to be a dangerous world for the bikes, throw the cell phone junkies into the mix and it just gets worse.

Just another one of those wishing it was a better world times. I'm sorry you had to make the choice, but I believe you made the right one.
