then i have this adapter...it goes from 4 bolt flange to 3 bolt flange...

and then i have the downpipe with the 3 bolt flange going to that adapter...i started it yesterday...was messing with it, drove it about 4 miles and it got loud, came back and there were no nuts left on the downpipe 3 bolt flange and 2 or 3 of the ones holding the 5 bolt adapter were half backed out...i tightened the hell out of them last time i put everything together....

I dunno what to do i dont understand it, this isn't the first time this has happened either... any suggestions

Does your downpipe or exhaust rub? If it does they will loosen up no matter what you do. Check you manifold too.
Also what hardware are you using?

are you usinglocking exaust nuts.....do you have room to double nut them..?

also...why do you have so many flanges and adapters.....would ya be better off just using a 4 bolt flange and having it welded to the d.p. and then bolted.to the 5 bolt flange... or maybe just a 5 bolt strait on flange...???

When my cat was rubbing the underside of my car I had the same issues, stuff kept backing out on me and sometimes would even break, HUGE pain in the ass. Now that its been redone with no clearance issues everything is holding up really well so far.

yea my downpipe is def rubbing i bet thats why...i got a new downpipe from brent2. the only reason i have so many adapters is cuz thats how it was originally set up so i didnt want to screw it up...but i think what i will do is weld that 3 bolt to 3 bolt adapter directly onto the end of my downpipe so that'll be 3 less bolts that can potentially come loose. that should work right? or should i just buy a 4 bolt flange instead of using that peice...
