But actually the real reason I was on ebay, pricing a replacement T3. Any one know if I can swap my cold housing onto these T3's? (so I can keep all my piping)

The covers will swap over. Why not do a hybrid?

Thats the same intercooler that the rear engine blue mk3 is running. Pete you should ask that guy what he thinks, it doesn't look that bad.

SSAutoChrome/XSPower stuff is crap. I've never seen a post with good results of their stuff when compared to equivelant parts from other companies.

well, im definantly open to suggestions, but the T3 super60 is capable of all the power im looking to make, so my take on it is why go biggerr and increase lag? still only looking for 200WHP, anything I make over that is a bonus :)

I should - do you remember his screen name?

How about when compared to it self? I mean - are people seeing these units fail? This looks adequate for my setup, but if their are quality concerns I'd like to know. Do you happen to have any links?

Their turbos tend to get the most flack, but their IC cores are not anywhere near the quality they claim. Inefficent design/flow. While likely better than nothing....I think your $$ would be better spent on a different brand (proven brand).

Pete, If 200 is all you want the s60 is more than fine. You might want to look into getting just a garrett CHRA, it might save you some money.
Stu, I agree on the turbos for sure..junk. Do you have any info on the ICs to back that up? Not doubting you, but have you seen testing, etc?

I couldnt find the link to the thread on someone dyno testing their IC...thought it was on the hondata site. Though when a company cheaps out on their proven ****ty turbos and manifolds it doesnt make me think about trying anything else they sell cheap.

Thanks for the links Stu, I'll check them out. I knew their turbos are crap, but I fugred an intercooler is an intercooler, and as long as the welds are good (so it stays together) I should be good to go. their turbos are stupid, who the **** glues a turbo togehtre!

well its kinda like 200 or bust (aka drive the car off a cliff) :p Anything after that is a bonus. I dont think Im too far off from 200 right now, and once I intercool Im gonna turn up the boost till I run out of fuel (C2 says after ~17 psi your fuel pump cant keep up).
Whats a CHRA?
BTW - How much boost were you running on your old x-flow 1.8 setup? I think you made 270 at the wheels IIRC. I know that was a bigger turbo and standalone, but im just curious to compare.

Interestingly that one set of pictures is pretty mauch all I have been able to find about these turbos. The two piece compressor houseing is not confidence inspiring granted but who is to say that this person did not have some sort of intake manifold backfire that cracked it like that? The more concerning thing is the fact that most of them do not have 360 degree bearings on the shaft.

I think the XS intercoolers are good for a budget project or one with low goals. Certainly better than nothing and most factory ICs. I wouldn't run one on anything I wanted to make good power with.
Pete a CHRA is the center section with wheels. You would basically swap this into your housings..

still cant find the link to real results. But as Ryan stated they work, just not as well as some of the more well known/proven products avaliable (at a higher cost too).

Pete, I don't remember exactly. I would guess 15-17. It was set to 15 but would do controlled spikes to 17-18psi. It was 1.8, the turbo was way, way bigger though. You could get to 300whp pretty easily IMO with a bigger turbo and intercooler. You can always turn it down...

I'll be happy with 200 but deep down am hoping for around 250 when all is said and done.
After some google searching... Couple dubs running the S60 for comparison:
MK4 2L - 170whp / 195 wtq @ 10lbs of boost (stock internals - ATP chip)
MK3 2L - 250whp / 288wtq @ ??? (Low comp forged pistons/rods)
Corrado G60 - 195whp / 230wtq @ 20lbs of boost (stock internals - 'custom' chip)

pete I have the turboworks intercooler 32x12x3.5 off ebay it is bar n plate amazing welds and really thick aluminum. and when I ran it here at work it tested well for air flow....its risidual pressure was .44lbs increase at 10 psi and all the welds passed the fpi insp. the intercooler held 100psi of air pressure before the caps flew off the ends.....so I couldnt go any higher
I think it was like 280 plus shipping on ebay. but mine is also huge in comparison to what you need. imop. mine also has the inlet outlet on one side which added to my increase in pressure due to the air flowing the length basicly twice.
its it the car...your welcome to check it out...

also if ya wanted to pick one up and have it run through the lab I could have it done.....i dont know if we have 2.5'' caps but I can check....
