Not to cross post or anything, but I created a DIY write-up for refinishing and repolishing the BBS RX-II wheels that come on the 2001 and 2003 Jetta Wolfsburg. The post is on Vortex here:

For anyone that has this wheels, I did this whole job in 3 days, working several hours each day. I'm pretty happy with the final result. If I had the knowledge and equipment to take the wheels apart it would have been even easier.

I must say they look very impressive in person! It's a hella nice true polish. I'll get to it someday...

I need to do that to the wheels on the VR this winter. I can't wait until those wheels look nice...

Don't think you can do that to your VR wheels... they have a painted finish (unless you want to remove the paint and polish then).

As long as the wheels are alloy underneath, I think you would be able to strip the paint (using roughly the same procedure) and then polish them. What VR wheels are you talking about?

I don't know the name of them. They are on my 1995 VR6 GTI.
