I have an O2O OUT of the car, some one is telling me it might have work done or a quaiffe/LSD. I dont really believe it, but is there any way to test? If I get power to the input shaft (hopefully I can find a 12-point that will fit) - is there anyting I can do? What about when its in gear, if I spin one drive flange one way then they should both spin the same way right?

Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks.

They should spin the same way, as they are locked together. If no than its a open diff., were did you get the tranny from?

a bolt kit would do the same thing though right.....it basicly makes them both turn together....

I thougt a bolt kit just replaces the rivets on the Diff, which is supposed to be the weakest link on the O2O's. Not sure though.

I thought a bolt kit bolted the diff together in a cheaper way with a block type thing that acts like a cheap peliquin....

I am prob mistaken...dont know much about trannies

A bolt kit just holds the ring gear to the diff, replaces the gay rivets. A quaife will turn just like and open diff off the ground..not the same way. Just pop the cap off the axle flange. If the splined "stub" that the flanges slide onto is threaded in the middle its stock. If there area no threads its a quaife.

Thanks man, but I would like to avoid splitting it if I dont have to, unless they come apart and go back together easily... not sure if that would require a seal change or what not. Now if I find it does have a quaffe, then that would be a different story :) Then I would want to consolidate 2 shoddy tranny's into one :)

its eay to plsit the case, i have the sealant so it wont leak after i put it back together. i do tranny's all the time for vw's. let me, it takes about 10 minutes to split it and another 15 to put it back together!
