I notice a very quiet but, noticable clunk when I take off. Any ideas?

Does it happen in reverse as well? Thinking if it also happens in reverse, it would be drive line related and if only on forward take off in first maybe suspension related. Nothing rattling/clunking when you hit bumps, yes?

How many miles are on the car.... does it have all its original suspension bushings and bearings (including control arms ) or are these fairly new? Stock or aftermarket suspension?

Could also be something as simple as a seat clunking around (a known problem in MK IV is seat creak)

I've got a clunk in my Rado that's been driving me nuts, too. I've replaced everything suspesion related and everything is tight. I think my issue is related to my sway bar. Does your clunk also happen when turning as the weight transfers?

Sorry, been busy w/ work. Really appreciate the responses. But, yes. I notice it when I turn sometimes and when I take off and that's it. It's very quiet and unless you drive the car all the time and take notice to that kind of stuff you wouldn't even hear it. But, any clunk concerns me, ya know?

jack it up and look at the mid pipe exhaust hanger, the welds on those break all the time!
