used this pic as an example:

The threaded stud on the starter solonoid that the positive battery cable attaches to is spinning loosly in the solonoid and it is neither tightening nor loosening. It wont come out or thread back in. My car just clicks when attempting to start it and I am pretty sure this is why. Anyone have this problem before? How would I fix this because the starter motor is fine otherwise. Thanks guys

Ryan! Ryan! Ryan! I have the same problem!!! I wasn't sure if it was the alternator or the starter. Mine will start after holding the key forward for about 30 seconds. When did you start w/ this problem?

I'd go tot he hardware store and buy a standard stud that is ever so slightly larger than the metric one...then retap the hole for the standard stud.
total cost like 50 cents.

Every time I see issues like this I always have to bring up the ignition switch. When they go bad, really weird things start happening. Not always the case, but if all your trouble shooting leaves you scratching your head, this may be a problem. search the tex for ignition switch in any forum and you'll read a ton of weird stories!

I'd give Adams idea a try since it seems inexpensive and not hard to try.
