I am doing a custom headliner using vinyl on my passat. I have the old headliner out and scraped all that orange stuff off the headliner board. Now its time to put on the vinyl. Anyone know what type of glue to use with this vinyl. Its a little heavier than the cloth liner, and does not have much of a padded backside to it. What products would work on this and where can I get them? Also, any tips would be great too!
p.s. My new headliner is an alligator skin pattern ;)

Make sure you have ALL of that orange crap off or the new one won't stick. Sand it to make sure and then use a surface prep to clean it of anything left over. Autobody surface prep will work or something like acetone. Then use 3m contact adhesive. Its exactly for this application. apply to both the headliner material and the board.. follow insturctions for adhesive and done.

I used the 3M spray adhesive for the carpet in my boot. Worked great! I would spray both contact surfaces and apply when tacky. Stretch it around the edges and use clampsto hold the edges until dry. GL!!
