I'm looking for some opinions on rust paint, like a paint you can apply over rust to stop it and over bare metal to prevent it. I'm always painting parts that are rusty and usually use black engine enamel.. its spray on and it holds up pretty wheel but it scratches really easily.
I've been locking a Rust Bullet and POR-15, etc but this stuff is expenive, like $120 per gallon. I've used brushed on rustoleum in the past but it takes forever to dry and isn't too great. I would love to find something like rust bullet that doesn't cost so much..

I know Warren used POR-15 with good results, but like you said it is expensive and looks like kinda a PITA do apply (I think its like a 2 or 3 step process). BUT it comes out like enamel which looks good and appears to be strong as ****.

Vin used something he can get at his work on Jeep he had. Not sure if that was Rust Bullet or something else but he said it was good stuff. Also he can get you a discount on it.

Yeah that is the kinda stuff I'm looking for.. Maybe a commercial alternative that is the same stuff but cheaper.
I was gonna ask Brent to what the MIL uses too.

I can get a Gallon of what is called Chassis Saver for around $70. Its a one part deal. It just has to be topcoated if exposed to sun alot. I have one in stock actually.

I have a rust paint kit Ryan, its from por-15 brand new. I also have the engine paint kit aswell, both are in black. The engine kit was $50 and the starter rust kit was $17, you can have them both for $35 if you want them. The engine kit will do a few motors easily and I sure the rust stuff would probably do atleast half a small frame. Here are links to the actuals products I have:

The engine paint works extremely well and holds up to anything, even a torch supposedly. I know many have used the regualr rust paint kit and kit seals rust forever, both kits actually have a spray on corosion promoter to make the surface bond with the pain as it will only work on rust, not smooth surfaces.
