Just wondering since I haven't seen a few of you for awhile . . .

Me:
Detail Detail Detail . . . . have new pads/porter cable + menzerna + sonus clay & a bunch of other stuff that I still haven't used
Install TPMS
Get the Dunlop Sport Maxx tires mounted
Take the car to Empire to get a few things warrantied
Tint (probably 50% all around)
Fine tune the car with SPS-plus
Maybe different brake pads

I just put on a Eurosport rear stress and front lower stress. I also just finished the install of my new Alpine amp and finished up the boot area. I also hooked up my XM in the Rado (moved from the truck) and did a ghetto mount in the ash tray area.

Maintenance:
Front wheel hub & bearing (in the garage waiting)
Rear rotors & bearings (bearings pressed - ready to install)
New BFGoodrich G-sports (in the garage waiting)
New antenna base (in the garage waiting)
Fix rear spoiler

Mods:
Passat moonroof (in the garage waiting)
Finish tinting the tails (yawn)
Paint & polish the new intake
Paint & install stock front sway

I am turbocharging my passat VR6, finishing work on the headlights, and fixing the gauge lights. It seems everytime I spend money into modifications, something breaks maintance wise.

How do you like XM radio? I am thinking about this also since I spend a lot of time in the car

Damn, the falkens are dead already?

Good choice in tires btw. I was looking at those before I stumbled on a deal for the Sport Maxx

I just got an '84 rabbit that is pretty ratty. im looking to drop it stupid low, I bought some BBS 13x6 Mahle's off Brent that will be going on, and I want to take off the bumpers. Its an auto and I'm thinking of either doing a 5-speed swap or a complete motorswap, that would happen when the Golf is out of the shop.

Golf is getting the turbo redone, brake upgrade, minor body work and a few other things. Progress can be seen here: http://www.fastdubs.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7312 That is almost done, and in the next couple months I will be upgrading to an AWIC and more boost (from 10 up to 17).

The Jetta has just been my daily driver, I would like to get better suspension for it, but its fine for what it is. So it will likely be a while before I do anything with that. I have even been toying with the idea of selling the shell motorless and using that motor (ABA X-flow w/ a cam, P&P, OBD1 bottom end, some other stuff) in the rabbit. Only time will tell - main goal right now is just getting the Golf done.

XM is alright. I think satellite radio is like FM. The signal goes away when there is no line of site to the satellite. The sound quality is best if you hook it directly to the head unit, otherwise the FM transmitter really does make it JUST like FM. Overall, I like not having to carry CD's and I only listen to music in the car (talk radio puts me to sleep). I'll probably move the mount I have since I keep hitting the unit while shifting.

Yeah, the Falkens died rather quickly, but running so much at Waterfest last year really tore them up bad. They got hot and I kept running, so I killed more than half the tread there. Sticky tires, loved the ride, but did wear kinda fast in general. We'll see how the G-force do soon enough.

For the VR

Suspension and lots of detailing, my income stops in 2 weeks, so it will have to wait till the fall again.

Probably other stupid little things. Oh and a chip.

Right now I'm dealing with a CEL (I think it's coilpacks, MAF, or both) and trying to get the most of my CPO warranty (which runs out next month).

I'm moving into NYC in July and the car will be sitting at my parent's house, but I'm going to try and get the following maintenance/mods done before I leave:
- Decent exterior and interior cleaning
- Repolish wheel lips
- Bosch Icon Wipers
- Paint Calipers Red
- Mount and hardwire 10" neon as trunk light
- Color match rear emblem background
- Front side license plate bracket on vent insert (since now I'm in NJ and should really have a front plate)
- W8 sunroof console (maybe)

I know it's all little stuff, but as much as I'd like to be buying coilovers, exhaust, and a FMIC right now, I can't justify the cost versus the rent of my NYC apartment!

Ooh first post!!

Neuspeed CAI

I wouldn't get the Neuspeed CAI . . . my friend got it a few weeks ago to replace his cracked stock airbox. Says that there is noticable losses in the lower RPMs in stop & go traffic. Mid to upper RPMs are slightly better than stock, but nothing noticable.

Either wait for the V-flow or get the Carbonio.

Peloquin huh? You suck . . . I'm looking at a Peloquin / Quaife / Stasis LSD as well . . . labor rates suck on them though . . . and I'm told that the 02Q/02M is trickier than the older trannies.

I've got an 02 silver a4 1.8tqt CPO that I bought in December. So far I've ad a pioneer avic-d1, dvd player in the glove box, fiberglass 10" fosgate sub/amp/crossover. I've shaved the badges, and painted the audi rings black and blacked out the grills.

In August I'm going to go a little crazy on the car. Tein coilovers, rims/tires, window tint, painted lowers, S4 or ABT spoiler, paint roof black(silver car). I might put on some B5 S4 calipers and slotted rotors with HPS pads if I have the funds. If not I'll probably swap in slotted 3.0 rotors/carriers, HPS pads, and ss lines.

I hate to do the "Show" stuff before GO stuff but it's still under warrenty. I'd rather spend the money on a K04/software/intercooler! But that will have to wait 18 months untill the warrenty expires.
