Someone paid $3k for this car, without knowing if the engine works, and plans to use the engine and turbo kit in his car mkIII.

50 bucks maybe...but damn 3k is a lot for just that. I paid 3k for my car as buy back from when it burned....but I made over 3k selling parts off it and I got to keep the motor.

looking at the picture more I'd assume the car had a trunk mounted fuel cell. why else would it have burt in the rear after an accident like that....

That is risky, I would never pay that much not knowing any history.. It could be worth it if it has a diff, built motor etc.
