im looking into buying the race version of the n75 valve for my awp 1.8t. when i look at other peoples cars they say they have the n75j valve but ecs offers the race version and the j version but does not distinguish whether the j is the race valve

im told i need to look for the audi tt version of the valve so im really confused and im not sure what i should buy for what im really looking for.

help is appreciated in advance. thanks guys...

Ditch the n75 and hook up a good quality MBC. Boost comes on faster and you can dial in exactly what boost you want.

i'll second that.

after tons of issues with limp mode I ditched mine and haven't looked back. who needs part throttle anyways

make sure you keep it to pass inspection when that time of year comes though.

im at the understanding that boost controllers do nothing but ruin things, i have no source for more fueling, so if i turn up the boost i will limp out...or detonate. does anyone else have any input?

I have the ecs race valve on my car. The ecs is actually the n75h, not the j. I think they are pretty similar, but from what I have read, it really depends on your individual setup as to how each valve will perform. On my car, the result was a much smoother boost curve and better turbo response. I have heard that you MUST have an upgraded or chipped ecu to increase the boost limit so that car does not hit limp at the factory setting (only about 14.5 psi). I think the h and the j both allow 18 psi, but I am not sure....

Not entirely true....

My TT has an apr tune and a 4.3v diode mod done. With the diode it limits my ecu from seeing me run any boost higher then 16psi. So that's what I have my mbc set at. I actually ran 20psi for awhile and didn't have any ill effects. I strongly reccomend a mbc.

my car is just recently chipped through Salisbury motor car with APR, which i highly recommend to anyone looking for a chip. great people up there and a great product. but anyways, im not going to go with a mbc because with APR i have v-tune which is my digital boost controller if i so choose. so the main question is whether i need the n75h or n75j....hmmmm

To some degree... every car and chip program recacts differently to the different N75's. Many find the N75J to provide the best operation. I've tried all three at varing times on my car... the N75J working best for me with my GIAC chip. Sometimes you have to just try them and see what you and your car likes.
