can you hook an ipod to a stock mk4 double din head unit?

mines the one that that has cd / tape deck. I'm not 100% sure if its monsoon or not...

i really dont want to have to use an FM converter

As long as you have a port for a remote CD changer you should be OK. That is how most of the adapters work by minicing a CD changer.

i would think it has the wiring all set up for cd changer....so does that mean i just have to get some kind of cable?

Mind you mine is old, I also have a single DIN stereo, and no I can't control the ipod through it, I think that might have come with later versions of the cable

And that "Universal" one I think is meant to be universal to all iPods...not to all cars, I don't see the CD Changer hookup in the pic....make sure you check out the Volkswagen specific ones.

Last month I e-mailed enfig and asked them what they would recommend for my GTI to allow Ipod use (some control from the monsoon head unit) and keep the CD changer. these are the items they recommended.

i found the cable i need...its like 160 bux...so its gonna have to wait a lil bit...its hard to justify 160 dollars when you can get an fm transmitter...gah...maybe xmas...
