Paint scheme for the CQ

I've talked about doing something with the paint and I still have plans. It has to wait for now... need the monies. I may get the hood and fender painted red to match tho. I'll figure that out after I finish the other car projects that are piling up.

So anyway, I will be rallycrossing the audi and I want it to fit the part. I dug up some online pics of the theme I want to try...

All the schemes like this I found are using a white base. Since I don't want to paint my bay or jams, I'm keeping the red base. Here's what I've come up with...

I know which one I like, but I'd like to hear what you think about the schemes. Any other ideas for paint jobs? Variations of what I posted?

Side note... I did pick up some Borbet RS from Jeremy (thanks again dude) and I'll be refinishing and painting them over the winter. What color wheels might look good w/ this concept? White, black, grey (to match stripe), or just silver?

Scheme 3 FTW...I like how it goes from light into dark with the rear wrapped.

it doesnt go down the fenders far enough like the original, it needs to go down to mid wheel to look right.


the other option is to keep a red stripe and have a white outline which would help seperate it....

needs more stickers too!!!!!!!!!!!!

down to the moulding, eh? I thought about that. I'll p-shop something to see how it looks. It's nor "original" though... there are so many versions of the scheme that I really am not sure what's original. Here are some others I found for illustrative purposes...

I definitely don't want to go down below the moulding. Yes, stickers will be needed. And I also like the 3rd where it wraps the roof and back.

yeah the white outline would be hawt... def do the roof n pillers... this will e awesome.

sweet... I mos. def. want some rings!! I'll get a size. Prolly in black and put on the lower portion behind the front wheels.

can you cut from an image file? only one color at a time? and hey... can you make the stripes, so I wouldn't have to paint them? maybe in sections? that might be tricky w/ the contours....

I think 3's the best - I like the wrap on the rear end. I'd also go down the side to the molding.
