Hey guys hows it going.
The other day i went to start the car and it wouldn't. So I went thru the whole car and found that there's no spark going to the coils. They're all fairly new.
Then scanned the codes and came up with engine speed sensor or something like that so I figured it'd be the crank sensor, replaced that and still nothing.
No spark whatsoever. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?? I hate having the car towed to the stealership but I'm clueless at this point.

Vehicle Speed Sensor sounds more familiar to me, and if that's the case, then you have a bad ground 99/100 times. It's very rare for the VSS to go, but when it's not properly grounded, you won't have a correctly operating guage cluster because the voltage going to the cluster is all messed up. I'd check the grounds near your tranny and leading to and from this sensor. It's the one that goes into the tranny near the output shaft (and of course leads to your speedo). That's my best guess!

By the way, is it turning over and not firing, or is it not cranking at all?

Cam position sensor?? 1.8ts are not crank triggered despite the distributorless ignition. I don't know the pinout off hand but I bet if you backpinned (with a volt meter) the signal output wire (other probe to ground) on the CPS while turning the car over you would see no signal. Without having access to my Bentley here for proper diagnostics thats my first guess.

I checked all the ground all wiring all fuses and pretty much everything else. it is turning over btw.
it was low on gas when I tried starting it maybe that messed something up.
come fix it and i'll pay ya

When was the last time it ran? How low on gas? Fumes? Gas light on?

i am guessing you put more gas in it to rule out the dry start?!

try to 'prime' the fuel lines and filter, they may be dry.

turn the key on, but where the lights come on but car does not crank.
then shut it back off.

tey doing this about 10 times and wait about 5 seconds between primes.

if it fires then goes out, you may need a fuel pump or relay, or your fuel filter could be clogged (supposed to be changed every 15,000 miles)

When I changed my pump/sending unit I had to "prime" mine about three times before it fired...

Fuel pump seems to be working just fine. I had it out of the car had it checked and its getting fuel. I'll most likely just tow it to romano tomorrow and see what they say. I hate this car.
Oh and it was pretty low on gas

Gene at romano took care of it. Reflashed the ECU and she fired up I guess.
And I sold her to Ryan.. so I wont be dubbing anytime soon. :frown:
