My wife's mouth dropped...but she said I could get 'em...so long is it comes out of my overtime money. I could of had them by now along with the drop and other accessories if we weren't sellin'/buyin' homes right now...argh... Oh well the house is sweet too...details details.

And I got the green light on the 2.5T after it's paid off. It'll have 100k on it by then easily...has anyone turbo'd an over 100k motor before? Can it handle it so long as it gets new forged internals? I'm thinking it could.

This all stems from a conversation we had about her friend's (from work) husband. He's put an exhaust/CAI/stereo system that makes his LED's flash with the music beat...in his Accord. He doesn't even have a freakin job. They just had a kid, and he's throwing goodies into the Honda. OK so more like it was a 'Doug having a hissy fit' conversation, but I made my point. She has the house of her dreams now with all the dogs she ever wanted. And we go on decent family vacations. So...I want some aftermarket crap in my car...to go with my whine.

But first the cabby...

As long as it still holds good compression, I'd skip pulling the block for a rebuild unless you need to. Often VW motors only need slight upgrades too rather than all BN parts. In the case of the 1.8t the OE pistons have been used for over 700whp without issue so unless you alter the bore no real reason to swap them out.

Just saw this online...2009-10 Audi TT RS 2.5T 350-365hp. Launching in Europe late 2008.

http://www.edmunds.com/audi/ttrs/2009/review.html

Another site said they were swapping the idea of the 3.2T at 365 to go with the lighter 2.5T at 350hp.

There has been much rumor about whether its going to be a 5cyl 2.5T or turbo''d VR in the TT-RS. From all I've read, no one expect for certain folks in VAG know what is going to be in the car. I'm hoping for the 2.5T as it would be cool to have another AWD quattro 5cyl turbo audi available again.

Vw's are just getting broken in at 100K and if the 2.5 is similar to the old 2.0 or VR6 no real changes are nessesary other than a headspacer to drop compression. with forged rods and crankshafts and a solid cast iron block this isn't a honda motor you need to build to throw lots of boost at it. Vr's are good past 450hp stock and even the 2.0 has been known to hit 500 with the right flowing head, even on stock internals.

As long as we are putting in OT at work, the OT$ go into my coffee can. I like all those wheels though. It'll come after the exhaust/cai/chip and lower stance is addressed. Love the oldskool flavor of the wheels on the MK5.

I've been also toying with the look of something like taking a design off of a Vanns shoe/shirt and drapping it over the car's back half. Or something along the industrial style of Korn's cd cover. That industrial metal bird or other art work that is similar. The silver ribbons on the Thunder Bunny don't do it, IMO. And shiny tangerine or M&M green colors don't work for me either on my car. The white is the perfect canvas for something to happen to it. So we'll see what it evolves into over the years.
