When I put my cross drilled and slotted rotors and new pads on the other day I opened the brake fluid jug in the engine bay... and then I pressed all 4 calipers like I'm supposed to... now I just don't understand how when I drive down the road the brakes sound like they're hitting the rotors... I don't think thats normal... should I just bleed the brakes?

Why did u open the jug and press the brakes, it seems to me that you put air into the lines. I've always gone with a possible bleed with just a rotors and pad change and a flush with new caliper. MY .02

I opened the jug so it wouldn't explode.

Bleeding them won't make a noise go away. Sounds like metal on metal grinding? Maybe you have a retainer clip out of place or a pad in backwards?

LOL, u can open the jug but dont have to press the brakes.
:icon_yeahthat: Might be in wrong.

The front calipers you have to push open with a c clamp and the back ones have to be rotated while being pushed in so I used a special air tool that pushes air pressure on a piece while you spin it... theres no other way to put new pads in... so I dunno... it is metal on metal...

Can you pin point which wheel.. it almost sounds like a stuck caliper.

yeah, you gotta compress the caliper so the beefier new pads fit. technically, you should open the bleeder to allow the fluid to push out... not force dirty fluid back up into the reservoir. IMO, you should always bleed brakes after opening the system (or pushing fluid back up into the reservoir). At least a pump or two to ensure there is no air in the system. Brake fluid should also be flushed every 2 years minimum.
as for your metal on metal sound... you're gonna have to jack her up and spin the wheel to pinpoint the sound. It could be a dust shield got a little bent and is touching the rotor. or maybe improper pad install.
