So last night me n pete fixed my exhaust leak. On my way out there i hit hard limp mode...no cel but also only 4psi. After we fixed it i now have a cel and still hitting hard limp mode.

Anyone got vag-com and a few mins to help me out?

check your n75 valve hookup (Since you recently had that apart)

let me know if you need it scanned again!

did you check your N75 valve hookup?

you need to see what code is coming back and go from there.

get new bolts and a new seal for that exhaust, so we can fix it once and for all :icon_tup:

limp mode is the worst. what exactly is done to the car at this point?? it's chipped?

are you getting CEL and limp mode, or just the boost cut?

yup checked the n75 and everything is hooked up right. I'm going to drop the turbo again in my driveway and see if i put the seal in wrong( i was fallig asleep). I can eliminate the n75 with a manual boost controller aswell.

Chipped with a GFB hybrid bov....right now i'm just getting boost cut.

FWIW, I dealt with limp mode issues for a long time until I finally did just that (MBC).

N75 still plugged in but just hanging there in the engine bay, MBC in its place + chip controlling boost

IMO - dont try and band aid the problem with a MBC, check the codes and get to the root of the problem. Get the car running solid as is before adding more mods. Its not like you have much done so tracking this down shouldnt be a big deal, I can help.

I agree... first I would get rid of that hybrid blow-off/DV... to make sure any venting of stuff to atmossphere is not freaking out the ECU. Just put the stock DV on for awhile so you can get a more solid base-line to figure things out from.

but I love my band aid :embarrassed:

I suppose you might track it down. Good luck... I replaced everything I could imagine, tried the rear o2 spacer, different MAF, unplugged MAF (did cure limp, ran horribly) and I also developed this way of driving where I would only go full throttle after 2800 rpm (a magic number for the ECU for some reason... that would keep it from going into limp, but if I went full throttle at 2000 and waited to spool, it would shut me down when it spiked)

There's a lot of happy people running MBC or EBC. I NEVER get the boost cut anymore, don't throw an exhaust CEL and hold more boost to redline than I did with the N75 plugged in running in. I tried the MBC in both configurations that still include the N75 (listed on boostvalve.com) but nothing worked as good as just letting it hang. YMMV... different software, different engine codes so I'm not trying to say this is the only way, only that it works great for me and might be worth a try since it only involves swapping a hose or two and plugging a hole.

pete I know thats not really the exact way of doing it but it seems to work. I never had boost problems till the exhaust problem. It would spike to 20psi in certain gears then then fall off to 18psi.

a MBC would just help me maintain boost a little longer in the rpm range.

Also like i said at your shop i know your busy and really would rather not burden you with my problem. I'm working on possibly getting use of a lift here in town.

If you have the time cool....but i know your pretty busy. I could even leave the car there for a few days if need be.

the bov never caused a problem before. Actually when i ran an aftermarket dv is the first time i hit limp more(before the chip). Then i bought the hybrid, Sence then this is the first time i have had this problem again. I dont want to ruin the stock dv just in case i have to bring it back to the dealer i want it to look as stock as possible under the hood.

the bov never caused a problem before.

Was that before being chipped??? Do you only have chip mode on your ecu or do you have a stock program you can switch too (to help troubleshoot things).

i ran the bov before being chipped and after with no changes.

If someone has a revo sps i can switch it.

What year is the car? I wonder if its one of them 'under the intake manifold leaks' that are so common on 1.8T's that are a few+ years old.
