looking for some feedback on wether or not i should take the plunge and get this turbo, input appreciated :)

my setup is 9:1 compression on an otherwise stock VR. will the head flow enough to benefit from this turbo? looking to make 4-450 wheel and not affraid of later spooling to help with launching and tranny abuse. also like the idea of having plenty of room to grow down the road :icon_cool:

basically the same turbo I've got save for a few small details. this turbo is much more than a 450whp turbo. if all you want is 450 I'd stick with a GT3071R
or GT3076R which will get you to the goal and not have as much lag.

i agree, but im looking for room to grow. where do you think this will spool at? Much past 4K?

not sure on a vr, on mine I'm assuming mid/late 4k.

grow how much, a gt307xr should be good for low 500s

I just purchased a similar turbo sans the ball bearing.

A T4 60-1 with a 4inch inlet 2.5 outlet and same compressor wheel as a 35r, but its journal bearing and with a t4 .69 a/r

Hey Pete, if the price is right i'd go for it but if it gets too high you might want to get something a bit smaller, altho for he drags it might be intersting how you would do with this turbo and say a 50 shot of N20 to help spool it up.....going back to your roots a bit :)

You should step up to a T4 housing for more efficiency, that one will probably spool quickly. The 60-1 would be a good choice and probably cheaper. You could also get T04R(T67) which is good for 750hp for about the same price and is a huge turbo.

what are you going to do with your kientics t3/4 turbo???

keep it or sell it?

Buy it. I don't think spool up will be too bad on a VR.

You can get a T4 housing for that GT35 too if you wanted to do that later.

plenty of people run GT35R's but having a drivable one that doesn't break is a problem. getting more than 500 -550 out of a stock bottom end may be an issue too, without head work and some cams in there that much power will be pretty high up and spool late.

My choice would be the GT3040R AKA GT3082, in a .82 or 1.06 A/R, smaller 30 turbine for spool with a larger 40 compressor for the extra flow needed on a 12 valve to stuff air in.

At those HP levels your gonna want some water/meth injection, lower comp head spacer, the 63LBS chip and injectors, and probably a better air to water unit than that little one.

Hey Pete, keep me in mind if you decide to sell the turbo you have...it would go well on the cabby.

auction ended... Did you win it?

That should spool pretty quick on a VR6 because of the T3 turbine side, and because its a duel ball bearing turbo. I would venture to say that it would spool quite a bit quicker than a kinetic turbo with the bigger .82 T3 turbine housing that is a popular upgrade for kinetic kit users.

Ever think about just swapping turbine housings on the turbo you have now for some better upper rpm flow and a little more power up top?

If you want I can bring my T4 60-1 to the shop if you want to check it out. Its got a much bigger compressor wheel than my T3/T4 and a T4 turbine with a 3" outlet
