Well, I like some of the green ideas, but it looks like a hatch and a hardtop convertable smacked together minus it not having a real convertable top. IDK the concept seems nice but lacks the speed and power.

Performance wise its not comp for the 1 series BMW. Twin turbo 24v six.

I really like the body styling that they went with. The newer a3/a4/a6 front end and the tail lights like those on the new q7/r8/a6 avant vehicles.

I think you miss the point.... the A1 size wise (and performance wise I would think) is more targeted at the Mini Cooper.
For Audi to make a serious competitior for the BMW 1 series I would think they would need to bring the S3 here (but with a more powerful motor) and sell it for a simlar price... since the 1 series with the twin trubo six is supposed to be around $35K, I don't think Audi stands a chance. The other car in Audi's table similar is size (I think) may be the TT, but it needs that turbo;s 2.5l I5 motor that has been rumored about for the future TT-RS... which I doubt wuld be less than $45K.
Having said that (I'm getting into rant mode here), if VAG really wanted to make in impression, it would stick tht 260hp S3 2.0T motor in a FWD GTI and sticker it for under $30K (make it a stripper to minimize weight and cost). Call it a GTI Renn Sport (RS - ie. motor sport GTI). Will never happen though.
