finally got all my parts, and got them installed, but had an issue updating my 034 to the newest firmware so had to send the ecu back to them to straighten it out for me.

First the coupe got a bath when it warmed up and i took the car cover off

Then it was time to put all these on

i've been in cortland for the last few years, grew up bout a half hour away. The car's spent all winter under a car cover, it used to be just a silver coupe. in the shape its in now, its only seen about maybe 3 hours of driving time, mostly at night b/c it wasn't inspected, and that was just for tuning. but as soon as the ecu's back from cali, you'll be seein it around.

just a t3 50 trim, it'll hold me over for this year, then it'll be time for a 28RS or 2871R

I really like how nice those coupes look. Gonna be mucho fun to drive when you get it on the road! How much power you think you'll have? Looking forward to seeing it in person sometime.

with that turbo it should be around 230ish whp, with the next turbo, somewhere from 270-300whp but with similar spool up time...

well, as you all may or may not remember, i sold the coupe in may or june when the trans blew on me. i sold it to a good buddy of mine who just had 2 twins, and hasn't had any time to play with it at all since he got it. well we were talking and i mentioned getting another coupe...and he thought that i should buy the 16vtCQ back....so im going to. i'll have it back in the spring. so hopefully i'll be participating more in the boards in the coming up months as i've been pretty non existant in any of the audi boards lately b/c of work and i have no project. but now i've got the coupe back so i'll be around :)

yep that's what i was thinking when i saw that you got one. im not sure how quickly i'll get back into droppin money on it and gettin it goin again...its gonna be nice to have it as a project car 1st and not a daily driver 1st where i had to rush through everything so i could keep driving it.

besides...in the spring the jetta needs some 18's, shocks/springs, tint, and some xenon lights, and maybe a short shifter before i get goin on the coupe again.... but i swear thats all the mods that car will ever see.

I need to rebuild a turbonetics T04E turbo, I am a bit scared to screw up such a nice turbo, If i throw you some cash would you mind rebuilding this perhaps?.

Well, i figured i should probably drop by and update this a little bit...

Bought the coupe back a while ago...but never actually picked it up til about september. and o yah, ditched the jetta for a new tundra...
http://applecreekcc.com/images/cars/tundraandcoupe33.jpg

put it straight in the shop and on the lift and tore it apart. the whole issue as to why the clutch went...is an absence of a pilot bearing...not sure where it went, but at one point when i took the engine out, it somehow never fell out or something but never went back on. so it stripped out all the splines on the inside of that spec stage 3+ clutch disc, and ruined the splines on the imput shaft of the trans.....

http://applecreekcc.com/images/cars/nosplines.JPG
http://applecreekcc.com/images/cars/warnsplines.jpg

so out came the trans, in went a trans from a b5 a4, and to make it work also the linkages and shifter assembly from that b5 car.
http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/gallery2/d/80046-1/IMG00017.jpg
http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/gallery2/d/80049-1/IMG00018.jpg

so to make the b5 trans work, i needed 3.89 final drive for the rear diff as well...so an urq rear diff, and to make that work, i had to source rear axles from an ABY or 3B engined S2 coupe.

also, i've updated the car to all the accessories from an AEB 1.8T so it can now run a serpentine belt instead of all the vbelts. as well as B5 1.8t rear hubs and brakes. so now its time for 5 lug wheels :)

all the parts are here now, with exception of some mounts and hardware that should be ariving early next week. then it'll all be put back together and towed out to detroit area MI where the car will have some final body work done....think wider ;) as well as the 5 lug front hubs, brembo's for the front, and some stereo work.

i'll snap some pics when its all back together and on its way to Michigan.

nice man!! It's come a long way... esp. from almost selling it. I'm glad to hear about this wip. How's it been running, tho?

I'll have to try to make it out that way... maybe a weekly brews night in Dryden? I gotta check out what you've done.

the car sat untouched for over a year, i just tore into it as soon as i got it back, i honestly havn't started it yet, but i dont forsee it being an issue. after it gets back from Michigan (which wont be til spring) its then going to get dyno tuned by marc swanson (a4kquattro on Motorgeek) then after that, she'll be a driver, but im in no hurry to drive it until after that.

but then she should be a load of fun :)
