anyone have the number for VWOA?? It's time to start bitching. Apparently my car has been throwing the same code for the last 9 months that tells them exactly why the car is having a cold start issue. They just neglected to do anything about it. Now it's going to be gone for at least another 2 days.
I've had the car for a 11 months and it's been broken for 9 of those months.
Yeah so anyone have the number?

what did I tell you months ago about letting the dealer diagnose your car problem??
Your better off walking in and telling them exactly what needs fixing....I mean there are enough vag-coms in this area...

Stu, I have been diagnosing the problem. That code only pops up immediately after the failed start. I've made them change the CTS before, told them exactly what it was that failed.
This has put me over the edge, I was thinking about getting rid of it before. Now more than anything I want the dumb car gone.

Sarah - You've definantly had your fair share of problems with it, push for it to be lemon law'd. Know any lawyers that you could maybe talk to about the nitty gritty of that process?

As for getting rid of the car I whole heartedly agree! What were you thinking of getting as a replacement?

You should get a lawyer and have them fight to lemon the car. I doubt VWOA will be very helpful or try to see your side, they will do anything to get out of paying. You do have to have proof that the dealer has tried to fix the same problem and failed seven times or something like that to have a case so you should be good in that area. I just wouldn't hold my breath for VW to come through, they just called me to see how my recent service went with the GTI at FX Caprara. I don't even have the car anymore and I have never been to FX for anything so that should give you an idea on the quality of customer service you are dealing with.

I have the code written down somewhere. I'd have to search on here some time.
After talking with Scott again it's been throwing a code for a failed ECU, didn't write down the code number. I called VWOA after they told me I'd have to wait a month to get a loaner car. The lady at VWOA couldn't believe that my car has been broken for so long and that it still is not fixed. When I went to get my car back tonight Scott told me that I would have a loaner on Monday and he apologized for the inconvenience. I'm still waiting for VWOA to call me back, they said they would call me back before the close of business on Monday.
My parent's have a lawyer friend, I'm going to ask if they know anyone that would be able to help me. My mom was reading up on it and I might be over mileage.

If I do replace it I have no clue what I would get. I'd like something 4 door even though I love my 2 door, I drive a lot and carry a lot of stuff around for work and what not. I want something that isn't as high insurance wise and maybe even a little slower since the other GTI will be my faster car. I guess it's time to start considering my options again. Even my mom said that maybe I should consider just getting rid of it.

I really like those, and so does most automotive magazines I read. They got great reviews.
I know how you feel, even though I dont have it as bad as you. Buying a new/ new used VW as a reliable daily driver was the worst decision I have ever made. Dont get me wrong I love VW's but I would have saved myself a lot of frusteration and money had I went with something else.....even a domestic and kept my VW's as project cars only

Oh boy, Im so sorry to hear about all the troubles Sarah. I know its not nice to bash Scott but he's clueless pretty much 99.9% of the time. I'm gonna take a wild guess that you already know that
Get rid of that car cause VWoA is not going to do anything for you. If they do, I'd be uber shocked. It's probably a cursed car like my A4 was :frown:

Have you tired taking to another dealer for service? Have you dealt with the regional rep yet? While you probably will not get a resolution but ask him/her to put everything in writing.
I'd hate to see you loose a lot of money on this car just because VW is jerking you around. They are just hoping you will give up.

It's been to Romano and Burdick. I don't know how to get ahold of the Regional Rep. VWOA is supposed to call me back soon. I won't be losing too much if I trade it in. I owe a lot less than what it should still be worth.
I'm just angry with the whole situation

If its not under warranty then you can always take it to European Auto on rte 11, I am sure they can fix it, but if its under warranty I think that would void it, You know you love that car but the hassle people give you about fixing it is what you really hate? That is why I asked if it was under warranty before.

The service department should be able to set up an appointment with the regional rep. The come by every month or so. Just start getting everything in writing from the dealer, service dept, and regional rep.
Have you tried going higher up the ladder at the dealership? Explain how you are a big VW fan and member of Fastdubs.

Before I was dissappointed but not angry. Now I am just plain angry. I have all my paperwork and will be talking to VWoA again on Monday. If they don't call back I will be calling them again for follow up. Really I just want my car fixed. I never really wanted to make it a big deal but when my car has been broken for the last 9 months I became a bit frustrated to say the least.

da Reg Rep always side with the service department. I have never heard of one incedent that they corrected an issue after being consulted.

When my tranny failed for the second time in my Golf, they wanted me to pay for a new clutch setup claiming that was a wear and tear item. My argument was that the only reason the clutch failed at all, was because the diff blew apart cracking the casing and causing tranny fluid to coat the disk. This was the second tranny failure in a year, and there was no way I wore out the clutch in a year so there was no way I was paying out of pocket for it. We went back and forth for prolly a week, I spoke with VWoA on several occasions and they finally told me I needed to take it up with the regional rep. The service department gave me his number, I called and there was no answer so I left a mesage stating my case and where I was coming from. With in one hour the service department called me back to say he approved it. I never god a call back from him which I thought was a bit rude, but I was happy they finally agreed to replace it at no cost to me (well except the major inconvenience/headache of the whole process).
So anwyay, point of my story - Finz I guess you cant say that any more :P

Not VW, but I had a huge problem with a dealership service problem with my old subaru. I worked with a regional rep for subaru and they eventually fixed the problem AND replaced the service manager.
glad to hear that Pete, my experince was not with VWoA but AoA. And boy let me tell you. I had no luck what so ever with them, and that was the final straw as to the reason why I unloaded my A4

My car is back and mostly fixed. They messed up my hatch in the process, but they are ordering the part to fix it. They were very pleasant when I went in and said if the problem happens again to give them a call right away. Latoya at VWoA has been fabulous, called me back and said that there was a file going and that if I ever needed anything to call back. She seemed genuinely apologetic and could see where I was coming from. Scott finally made the connection that my uncle works at Burdick. We'll see how the car runs tomorrow.
My only issue with what happened at the dealership today is that they did not reassemble my hatch, they left the card off so all the mechanisms are hanging out in the open. I suppose it's to save time when they have the part to fix it.
