Driving on the way home from downtown in my moms hyundai accent the hood blew off, no joke. It remained attached to the left side but bent itself beyond repair. Now I need a new hood to attach to the car. I am certain i can find the hood but can anyone here help me attach it?

I'd compensate for the help - whatever your vice.

Man, that sucks... did the hood release freeze open? This happened to my sister when she was driving a mk2 golf. Her hood flipped right up and covered the windshield... She was and (you are) lucky it didn't cause an accident! If I was closer I'd offer to help, But if you can't get anyone else in the area from fastdubs to chime in (doubtful that you'll have any trouble based on past experiences) then once you get the hood I'll drive in and help put you put it on.

dude...a couple years ago i saw that happen on an older s-10 on 690 going about 70mph...traffic was pretty heavy too. It was right by where the channel 10 news building is. Somehow everyone managed to avoid an accident.

It looks like the plastic piece bolted to the latch snapped and released the hood, it also managed to tear off my drivers side mirror. I need a warm place to reattach the mirror with superglue. I tried to do it outdoors for the past 30 minutes and with it being so cold there is no way it's going to bond. My extension cord doesn't go far enough to use a hairdryer.

The hood was already broken on the passengers side, the hood snapped free from the corner and was raised a little. I think with it having been so cold the plastic piece attached to the latch was brittle and a gust of wind at 50mph near the geddes street offramp on 690 just blew it up and snapped that plastic piece.

So there are a few parts I need to get.

Thanks, I know I am going to need some help putting this back together when I get all the parts. Can't have mom driving around with a ghetto car.
