what exactly is fender rolling and fender pulling? I obviously know it has to do with changing the fender shape to fit bigger wheels....but how does it work exactly? does it require repainting afterward?

Fender rolling involves "rolling" the inner metal lip on the fender up. Fender pulling can be a very subtle reshaping of the metal to all out cut and welding to totally change the shape. Fender rolling and very minor pulling can be done without repainting if done right. Major fender pulling will require body work and paint.

Fender rolling simpley folds/bends the inside lip of the fender upward allowing for additional clearance for the tire and rim to move up and down, in some cases you can actually flare the fender out a bit (some people call it "pulling"). But you must be very careful and use a heat gun on the paint so that it does not crack. Both processes are done so no painting is required afterwards.

The tool actual bolts to the hub of the car and has an arm with a roller at the end which contacts the fender. It can be adjusted at very small increments while making sweeps around the fender well. Pushing the lip out and upward.
