for 10k you could have a vr swap with the beginnings of a turbo/charger or a semi decent high milage e30 M3.

Since you are a body guy why not buy a 325 and do the M3 1/4 and fenders. You can tubo the stock six for really cheap.

****, for 10k you could have a fully operational VR swapped car for under 5k (check out the MK2 for sale forum on the tex) and use the left over cash to put together a turbo kit.
I love the e30 as well, but more from a collectors perspective. It's not a car I'd rod out and race, that's for sure.

Try insuring a M3.
Get a E30 with the non-ETA motor and boost it. Much cheaper.

click here and make the want worse (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1024875)
i want an E30 quite bad like. anyone that's been to a glen region autocross can attest to just how good a well sorted one can work. look for a 318is, it's the cult classic of the e30 world. it has all the suspension settings (i think) of the 325is and the limited slip, but it has less weight in nose so it's supposed to handle better.

LOL Rob!!!! Man I hope you get what you want, and I hear ya on stupid cars.........
I feel the same way.
I saw a wicked Beamer last week in N.Syracuse, I have my camera ready if I see it again, it is so smooth.... Black and tinted, looks like the one posted on the top of this page. I wouldnt mind having one myself, but I am a Dubber, (besides my truck, ofcourse). But they do look sweet.
I'll keep an eye out for an M3 for ya Meat!

I've always drooled over the e30's, and also the 1988 E28 M5, I drove a 528e bmw in highschool for a bit, always made me want the M version.

Mine at The Glen in '05 before the motor was redone. They are a super fun car and i will never get rid of mine. The way you can rotate them through the turn is magical.
