Doors on my Jetta is another thing I can add to the list of things I hate to do, and it's even worse with only one person doing it. I couldn't get them to work for the life of me, and it's a pita to adjuet the front hinges with the fender on. Anyone feel like doing it for me? Ugh :frown:
I want to be done with this goddamn car, f'in roadblocks.

Not sure what time you wake up/go to bed, but FBL and Ack both have experience with this. I know FBL has today off, but he'll probably be snoozing until noon at the earliest, and I'm not sure about Ack. I don't remember them having to remove the fender to do it on Ack's mk3, but I know it took two people. Think about it this way: at least you don't have a mk2, which isn't adjustable and requires a new hinge!

That is true, the mk2 doors do suck. I almost got them to line up, but I can't do it by myself, and I'm so pissed b/c one of the doors was sitting too close to the fender and scraped it, so now I have a nice little bare metal spot on the doors I have worked so much on. :frown:

After seeing a few people paint their own cars I understand why body work/paint costs soo much. Sure looks like a pain! BUT I will say your car is looking a lot better already James, and you're in the home stretch now, you'll get their dude.

Thanks dude, and maybe you or rob could help me level out the doors, they are so darn pickey to get them to sit right.
I think when it becomes my winter car, I'll run coils, jack it up to the sky, put sandbags in the trunk, and a snowplow on the front, then maybe some mud tires for the summer. Hmm...
