Me and Scott K. from Ithaca are going to attempt do this ourselves this weekend.
Scott said it is pretty easy - but I was wondering if there is anything else I should do that isn't listed for the 40K service?
It's on my B5.5 1.8T.

:err: I didn't realize we needed to change the oil for the 40K. Might have to drop it off at Jiffy Lube and let the experts do that part. seriously... it will take you longer to drive down here, than to change a few filters, oil and plugs...

jiffy lube....experts...bwahahahaha. changing the oil in these things is really simple. if you're gonna take the time to do all the other service stuff, 20 minutes for an oil change shouldn't be a problem.

Me thinks there was some missed sarcasm. After doing a few timing belts, wheel bearings, rod bearings, this and that..... oil changes are not an issue.

i'd probably do a manual tranny or auto tranny fluid change as well if it hasn't been done.
Lifetime fluids = BS
