Anybody hear anything good or bad about these GPR kits (http://www.gprparts.com/brands/gprOilCoolerKit/)? I've been thinking about an external oil cooler kit and these are about $100 less than the Eurosport kits (http://www.eurosportacc.com/oilcooler.htm)and $200 less than the Autotech kits (http://www.autotech.com/prod_engine_oilcooling.htm). There's also EIP's kit (http://www.eiptuning.com/eip/oilcooler.html) and BBM's Mocal kit (http://66.94.71.73/media/php/catalog.php?pid=1390).
I've got to spend money all over the car, so a good product for as little as possible is the goal. LMK what you think...

Kyle, my question would be "why do you feel that you need one?"
I can understand if you were doing forced induction . . . but I would wait until that time comes. Until then, run a thicker weight, high quality oil and you should be fine. For everyday driving & etc, I would probably just get the dieselgeek unit.

i kinda agree with waiting on this....when you go f.i. you will have to mess with your oil pan and some oil lines...so do it then...
I know vr's tend to runn a bit warmer do to the nature of the engine design but just using a better oil should be good.... 20-50 racing maybe if you are really getting it warm....

Again, I understand the FI comments! But does anyone have input on any of these units?

I'm a name-brand whore.
I would do the mocal thermostat adapter plate with a setrab oil cooler. Big $$$. If I had to choose one of the other, I'd get the the better thermostat plate, and cheap out on the oil cooler core.

I bought a Mocal thremostatic plate and 16 row setrab cooler from BBM (making my own hose "kit").
